I bought an analog version of this Peltor product over a year ago (the RaceTunes 1.3), but the Peltor Digital WorkTunes 26 is a great improvement over the analog model. Despite complaints on some websites about weak FM reception, or having to tune to a setting that was off by a couple of digits from the actual broadcast frequency, I experienced no such problems. I live 15 to 25 miles from the nearest FM transmitters, and some the the FM stations I like have only a moderate signal strength, but I still receive them just fine. The quick access to digital preset stations is great, with no worries about bumping into an analog tuning knob, or having to mark your favorite station settings (approximately!) via a pen or pencil next to the uncalibrated tuning knob. I'm not sure why the Peltor Digital WorkTunes 26 is not currently available directly from Amazon, because it's a great product!

This is a great product at a very reasonable price. It is excellent for operation of heavy equipment, tractors, loaders, generators, etc. where you need protection and radio entertainment does not distract from safe operation of the equipment. With gas powered equipment that does not have ignition spark arrest circuitry (mostly older equipment) you will get an electronic "click" on AM radio. To test your equipment for such, just try any battery powered radio next to the idiling gas powered equipment. Diesel power will not cause this reception problem. The only problem with the unit is that the earphones are not powered by the unit when an mp3 player is plugged into the headphones. The is no volume control other than the one on the mp3 player. Smaller and weaker mp3 units will not have enough power to be heard, even with the ear protection. CD players and stronger input devices seem to work very well. Overall, it is a good unit.
